Field of Vision solo exhibition

Olivier Cornet Gallery, Dublin

October 9th to November 6th 2021

'Field of Vision, botanical treasures in focus' was Yanny's most recent solo exhibition which took place in 2021 at the Olivier Cornet Gallery. It included 25 sets of small Verre Eglomisé paintings proportionally similar in shape to glass slides used in old microscopes. Presented in sets of three, each set reflects the numerous habitats in Yanny's garden. Each plant was drawn from nature, a selection from the myriad wild plants growing on about half an acre, native plants which all too often go unnoticed, but which are part of delicate and precious microcosm. They include spring flowers like Celandine, Primrose and Cowslip, summer flowers such as Bluebell, Foxglove, Poppy, Forget-me-not and Clover as well as autumnal favourites like Bramble, Rowan and Hawthorn.

Also in this show were three round pieces on convex glass, suggesting how we might view our local wild plants through a lens.

The Hand Fan for Habitats, a sculptural piece, depicts sample plants from Irish habitats which are likely to be endangered by climate change.
